The plan sounded simple: Just leave your old life and hop into a new one. That's how Andreas and Thomas thought. But there is a difference between making plans and actually carrying them out...
Weimar 1988 – many people want to leave the GDR. Two young men start a last desperate plan: they occupy the registry of Weimar's church to enforce their instant departure permit. They imagine to be protected by the inviolable status of church. But the superintendent is angry about this repeated provocation and call the police.
"A Mighty Fortress" is a fictional story about real events. This short is a teaser for the feature "Oktoberfrühling".
